Hey
people, Mike here FINALLY
checking back in after a two month break. Sorry it's taken so long but
weddings tend to turn the volume on everything else in you rlife WAY
down. So, on that note and without any ado what-so-ever, here's is the
new Picks of the month!

The
Bourne Supremacy
Release Date: 12/7/04
If you read my review of
The Bourne Supremacy then you already know how I feel
about this film. Do I really need to say more about it?

Carnivale:
The Complete First Season
Release Date: 12/7/04
Man, this was one hell of a freaky show. It’s
1934 in the American heartland. It’s the middle of the great depression
and a massive drought. The final battle between Good and Evil is about
to begin and it’s all going down in a traveling carnival. I know, it
sounds cheesy. If I hadn’t seen the actual trailer for this I would
have dismissed it just from the description. Luckily though, I did see
the trailer and this ended up being one of the nicer surprises of last
year. Very much worth the price and it will grace my collection as it
should grace yours.

M*A*S*H:
Season Seven
Release Date: 12/7/04
I realize that not everyone likes M*A*S*H
and to those of you who don’t all I can say is that it’s not my fault
that you’re stupid.

Wild
at Heart: Special Edition
Release Date: 12/7/04
OK, this movie will NOT be for everyone. Why?
Well simply put, David Lynch is out there. He makes really strange movies
that in some cases you have to want to like. Personally, I like most
of his stuff, this movie included, but I do have to admit that some
of his films have just done absolutely NOTHING for me. That being said,
Wild at Heart is a really cool stylish film and Nicolas Cage
and Laura Dern are awesome in it.

I,
Robot
Release Date: 12/14/04
Once again, if you read the review
then you know the dealy yo so I don’t feel that it’s necessary to repeat
myself.

Lord
Of The Rings, The: The Return Of The King - Platinum Series Special
Extended Edition
Release Date: 12/14/04
OK, so this is most definitely a no brainer but
I felt the need to add it to the list because of the deep sense of awe
that it bestows. Seriously, after seeing the extended version of the
first two films I can’t think of a single good reason to not buy this
set. Not one.

Meet
The Parents: Bonus Edition
Release Date: 12/14/04
Not much to say about this one beyond what I already
have really. It is a REALLY funny movie that every man that has
every met his girlfriends father for the first time can sympathize with.
This disc comes with a few deleted scenes and a Meet the Fockers
featurette with all of the actors from that movie so it’s worth picking
up if you don’t have it already.

Quantum
Leap: The Complete Second Season
Release Date: 12/14/04
As a kid Quantum Leap was the highlight
of my prime time TV week. It was a great show with great actors so if
you like recapturing great memories from your youth like me or are just
looking for a great show to watch/own then you should definitely grab
this one ASAP.

Silver
Streak
Release Date: 12/14/04
Richard Pryor and Gene Wilder have ALWAYS been
one of my favorite comedy duos. Pryor was always SO cool and Wilder
was always SO white and not afraid to play that up at all. It’s just
too bad they only did 3 movies together. Silver Streak is definitely
one of my all time favorites though and definitely my favorite Pryor/Wilder
film. I’m not going to bother with a synopsis because if you don’t know
the story of Silver Streak then please step away from your
computer, beat yourself over the head with a brick for an hour and a
half and then give up all assumptions of knowing what the hell a cool
movie is.

Star
Trek: The Original Series - The Complete Third Season
Release Date: 12/14/04
Yes, I am a Trekkie. No, I am not ashamed to admit
that. As a kid, the old Star Trek re-runs sparked my imagination like
nothing I had ever seen before. This of course was before the proliferation
VCRs so I wasn’t able to watch Star Wars on a regular basis
just yet, but I digress.
Star Trek is just plain cool so pick it up, grab your fake
Vulcan ears and be proud to be a Trekkie!

Blind
Fury
Release Date: 12/28/04
Blind Fury is my second favorite Rutger
Hauer film ever (the favorite of course being Blade Runner)
It is most definitely a cheesy 80’s film but that’s one of the reasons
that I love it so much. It’s about a blind American samurai. That’s
right, I said a blind American samurai. If that’s not reason enough
to buy the DVD I don’t know what is!
